I can always remember what the sky looked like from her bedroom window. At first, it was a deep shade of navy blue, studded like diamonds, twinkling and lighting the night. But the blue would fade away to a bright white, then to orange, then to a brilliant Robin's Egg blue. I watched night become day and it never fails to amaze me, how much the sense creates memory.
I can remember the smells wafting in through her bedroom window. The scent of wildflowers, in their brilliant colors, tickled against my nose and the smell of the horses in the barn next to her little house reminds me that I am in Big Sky Country,
